During July and August of that 12 months, Yazoo participated in Exercise Sweep Clear III, a NATO minesweeping exercise near Sydney, Nova Scotia. She subsequently participated in the International Naval Review held that summer time at Hampton Roads, Virginia, earlier than becoming part of a large combined NATO fleet that performed intensive ASW and air defense workouts in the North Atlantic that autumn.
