I clicked on the link to this from the Anxiety section. I would like to have seen options relevant to my specific SNP instead of general recommendations of herbs and supplements.

Hi Melissa, indeed, 12-18g/day was used in clinical studies involving people with anxiety, depression, OCD, or eating disorders. Buying inositol in powder form might be more convenient. You can distribute the daily amount into 2-3 doses over the day.

That seems like a lot to take … I was looking at supplements, and the highest I could find was 1,000 MGs. How much do you take to = 18 grams?

One of those is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization).

PTSD is a specific type of anxiety disorder, but an anxiety disorder all the same, and presents with many of the typical symptoms of anxiety.

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and was trained in EMDR in 1996. I have used it as part of my everyday practice, treating nearly every type of case, with great and humbling success.

I’m sure it was an oversight to leave EMDR out of this discussion. I hope that anyone looking for treatment for anxiety will do a little research, and find out a little about EMDR. They owe it to themselves before making a final decision.
