I have taken beta analine for years without apparent incident. I have begun taking in mornings before workout without other supplements and find myself wiped out to a nap. I can perform workout. If I do not work out timely, I will go to sleep. Apparently it is dropping my blood sugar. Any idea what is happening?

I have aquagenic pruritus (water induced itching). Beta Alanine has completely eliminated my itching. I take 1.5g a day, but I worry that there hasn’t been enough long term studies to know if it’s safe for long term. I hope so, because itching is miserable. Thanks for the article!

In reply to Brian. Hi Brian, the long-term side effects of beta-alanine have not been sufficiently researched. Most clinical trials used it for up to 8 weeks.

I have read online skin itch and in particular jock itch can be quite an embarrassing side effect of beta alanine. Is there a suitable fix for the itch. Now we know the reason so many guys do that – high beta alanine levels
